About

I am a health economist and research consultant offering consulting services for various organizations, including the World Bank, World Health Organization (WHO), Asian Development Bank, Tobacconomics at The University of Illinois at Chicago, and The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK), among others.  I'm also an adjunct professor at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kochi, and teach at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) as a guest faculty.

Formerly, I was an Asst. Prof. of Economics at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT-J). I hold a PhD in development studies from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) and a post-doctoral fellowship from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). I have held full-time academic positions at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the American Cancer Society, in Atlanta.   

My research interests include public health policy and regulation of tobacco, alcohol, and high-fat sugar salt (HFSS) foods focusing primarily on India and other lower and middle-income countries.
